What Is Shipt?

Shipt is a U.S. same-day shopping and delivery service. Customers choose a participating retailer in the Shipt app or on Shipt.com, add products to an order and select a delivery window. A shopper then shops the order and delivers it to the address on the account.

Availability depends on the delivery ZIP code and the retailers operating in that market. Shipt’s public site currently states that it does not operate in Alaska, Wyoming or West Virginia. Even in supported states, the stores, products, alcohol availability and delivery windows can differ by location.

That local variation matters for coupons. A promotion tied to one retailer, product group or market may be genuine without being available to every Shipt customer. For that reason, the current offer cards on this page show audience and restriction details instead of treating every Shipt discount as a universal coupon code.

Shipt Membership and Delivery Costs

Shipt currently lists its standard membership at $10.99 per month or $99 per year. Members generally receive a $0 delivery fee on qualifying orders over $35. Member orders below $35 carry a $7 delivery fee. Shipt also says alcohol orders in supported markets may carry an alcohol fee, and service fees can vary by retailer and location.

Membership is not the only way to place a Shipt order. One-time orders can carry both delivery and service charges shown at checkout. If you order only occasionally, compare the membership fee with the actual fees you would otherwise pay instead of assuming that a discounted membership is automatically the cheaper option.

How Shipt Coupons, Promotions and Credits Work

Shipt uses several different savings mechanisms. They can look similar in an ad but behave differently at checkout.

• Digital coupons are clipped on eligible items and reduce the qualifying merchandise price in the current order.
• Cart discounts reduce the subtotal of a qualifying order when the promotion requirements are met.
• Promotional Shipt Credits are earned from a qualifying promotion and then used on a future eligible order.
• Delivery discounts remove an eligible delivery fee under the conditions stated in the promotion.
• Membership offers reduce or change the cost of a Shipt membership and may be redeemed through a dedicated membership flow.

Shipt’s Promotion Terms and Conditions make this distinction important. A promotion can be limited by customer, retailer, product, minimum spend, payment method, market or expiration date. The communication attached to the offer controls the terms.

How Shipt Digital Coupons Work

Digital coupons can appear on eligible products in the Shipt app or website. When a coupon is available, the customer clips it, adds the qualifying product and satisfies any quantity or spending rule shown with the coupon. Once the requirements are met, Shipt shows the discount as applied and includes a Coupons line in the checkout breakdown.

These are e-commerce coupons, so they do not necessarily match a shelf promotion inside the physical store. Shipt also says each item can qualify for only one digital coupon and may not qualify for multiple Shipt promotions at the same time.

A useful detail is how coupons interact with the member delivery minimum. Shipt calculates the $35 delivery threshold before subtracting digital coupons. If the pre-coupon value of qualifying items reaches the threshold, clipping a coupon does not by itself push the order below the threshold for delivery-fee purposes.

Where Do You Enter a Shipt Promo Code?

Shipt has a separate membership offer redemption page for membership codes. That is different from product-level digital coupons, which are clipped inside the shopping experience.

If Shipt sends you an account-specific code by email, SMS or an in-app message, follow the redemption instructions in that communication. A code intended for another customer, retailer or market can be real and still fail in your account.

Coupon directories often mix membership codes, shopper-referral codes, old seasonal codes and retailer-specific order promotions together. Shipt Savings for New Customers

Membership Promotions and Trials

When Shipt advertises a membership offer, confirm three things before accepting it:

1. The promotional price or trial is actually shown for your account.
2. The renewal price and billing interval are clear.
3. You know how to cancel before the next charge if you do not want to continue.

Shipt’s public pricing flow currently describes a free trial for eligible new customers on the monthly plan. Trial eligibility is not a permanent right for every account, and returning customers can be excluded. Because the trial length or terms can change, the current offer card should be checked before signup.

A membership discount also does not guarantee that every order will have no extra charges. Orders below the member delivery threshold, alcohol orders and some retailer or location-specific service fees can still affect the delivered total.

Does Shipt Have a Customer Referral Code?

Shipt’s current customer referral guidance says members cannot refer other customers to sign up for a membership. Shipt does have a separate referral path for people applying to become shoppers, but that is not a customer promo code.

This distinction matters when a third-party coupon page labels a referral string as a Shipt coupon. A shopper applicant referral should not be represented as a consumer discount.

Savings for Existing Shipt Customers

Existing customers do not need to rely on a reusable public code to save. Shipt’s own shopping experience can surface account and retailer-specific discounts.

Check the Deals Tab and Exclusive Savings

The Deals area can show digital coupons and retailer-specific promotions available in your market. Shipt also says promotional opportunities may appear in its Exclusive Savings email newsletter.

A practical sequence is:

1. Open the retailer you plan to order from.
2. Review the Deals area before building the full cart.
3. Clip only the coupons relevant to products you actually need.
4. Watch any spend-and-get progress shown for a promotion.
5. Review Coupons, Credits, delivery fees and service fees at checkout.

The discount shown in one retailer’s catalog should not be assumed to apply at another retailer, even when both are available in the same ZIP code.

Retailer Rewards Programs

Shipt lets customers connect selected retailer loyalty programs where supported. In the app, go to Account → Rewards programs to see which retailer programs are available in your area.

This is not a universal stacking guarantee. Retailer rewards, Shipt digital coupons and Shipt promotions can follow different rules. The connected retailer program and final checkout determine what is actually credited.

How Shipt Credits Work

Shipt Credit is an in-app balance, not a traditional coupon code. Shipt says customers may earn credits through sales, spend-and-get promotions, membership offers and other special promotions. Earned promotional credits are generally added after the qualifying order is fulfilled.

Your available balance appears under Account → Wallet. At checkout, an available credit balance can be applied through the credit control shown in the order breakdown.

There are important restrictions:

• Shipt Credit cannot be applied to delivery fees.
• Shipt Credit cannot be applied to alcohol items.
• Shipt credits and gift-card balances cannot be used for shopper tips.
• The specific promotion can add other restrictions.

Shipt’s general promotion terms state that promotional credits expire three months after they are credited unless the promotion communication gives a different expiration date. That is why a Wallet balance should be checked before a later order instead of assuming the credit remains available indefinitely.

Can You Stack Shipt Coupons and Promotions?

Sometimes, but not every discount can be combined. Shipt treats each savings mechanism separately.

The official rules currently support these practical limits:

• Each item can qualify for only one digital coupon.
• A couponed item may be excluded from certain other Shipt promotions, including some spend-and-get offers.
• Shipt’s general promotion terms limit a qualifying order to one cart discount unless the specific promotion says otherwise.
• Promotional Shipt Credit can be used on eligible future merchandise, subject to the credit restrictions and the terms attached to the offer.
• Retailer rewards can be available separately, but support varies by market and retailer.

The safest stacking test is the final checkout breakdown. If a coupon disappears after another promotion is added, compare the final total before deciding which savings path is better.

Student and SNAP Membership Discounts

Some of Shipt’s most useful ongoing savings are eligibility-based membership plans rather than public promo codes.

Shipt Student Membership

Shipt currently lists a $4.99 monthly Student Membership for eligible college students, compared with the standard monthly membership price. The current signup flow uses a valid .edu student email for verification.

Shipt says students must reverify annually and can remain eligible for student pricing for up to four years or until graduation, whichever comes first. After the discounted eligibility period ends, the plan can renew at the regular monthly price unless it is canceled.

Review the official Shipt Student Membership page before enrolling, especially if you are already on another Shipt membership plan.

Shipt SNAP EBT Membership

Verified SNAP EBT recipients can currently access a $4.99 monthly SNAP Membership. Shipt verifies eligibility using a valid EBT card number and PIN and may require reverification when it cannot confirm eligibility automatically.

A membership is not required just to use SNAP EBT for eligible grocery purchases on Shipt. However, SNAP benefits cannot pay the membership charge, delivery fees, service fees, shopper tips or non-eligible items, so another payment method is required for those charges.

The participating retailers that accept SNAP EBT through Shipt can change. The official SNAP EBT page is the better source for the current retailer list and verification requirements.

If you qualify for both Student and SNAP pricing, Shipt says the included membership benefits are currently the same. The verification method and duration of eligibility differ.

Target Circle 360, Shipt and Target Circle Card Benefits

Target owns Shipt, but the savings programs are not interchangeable. A Shipt membership, Target Circle 360 membership and Target Circle Card benefit can each have different rules.

Target Circle 360 Access to the Shipt Marketplace

Target Circle 360 includes same-day delivery benefits and access to the Shipt Marketplace after the benefit is activated. Target customers activate the Shipt Marketplace benefit from their Target account and use the email associated with that Target Circle 360 account.

Target’s official help currently describes Circle 360 as including same-day delivery benefits and no-markup pricing on eligible orders, with exclusions and terms. Shipt separately states that qualifying member orders over $35 receive a $0 delivery fee, while other fees or alcohol-related charges can still apply where stated.

Some newly activated Circle 360 members can also receive a first Shipt Marketplace order promotion. Because that amount and activation window are offer-state data, use the current offer cards above instead of relying on an evergreen number here.

Target Circle Card and Mastercard Savings

Target Circle Card pricing for the Circle 360 membership is a Target benefit, not a Shipt-wide coupon. Target currently publishes reduced Circle 360 pricing for eligible cardholders.

Shipt also documents a separate 5% benefit when an eligible Target Circle Mastercard is used for a Target order placed through Shipt. That 5% does not apply to Shipt membership fees, alcohol or orders from other retailers.

This is a payment-method and retailer-specific benefit. It should not be described as a 5% Shipt coupon for every order.

Compare the Delivered Total, Not Just the Coupon

A Shipt discount can be valid and still produce a higher delivered total than shopping in person. Compare the whole transaction rather than the headline discount.

For a Shipt order, consider:

item prices + delivery fee + service fee + applicable local or alcohol fees + tax + optional tip - discounts and eligible credits

Then compare that with the realistic in-store cost for the same basket.

Shipt says item prices can differ from in-store prices for customers without the applicable no-markup benefit. Substitutions and weighted items can also change the final charge after the order is placed. A coupon that saves a few dollars may be less important than whether the cart reaches the member delivery threshold or whether a service fee applies.

This is especially useful for small orders. Waiting until a normal household order reaches the qualifying member threshold can sometimes reduce the delivered total more than chasing a product coupon on a smaller cart.

Why a Shipt Promo Code or Coupon May Not Work

A failed promotion does not automatically mean the offer was fabricated. Check the exact condition that failed.

Common causes include:

• the promotion expired in the timezone stated by Shipt;
• the offer is limited to another customer, account, retailer, market or ZIP code;
• the digital coupon was not clipped before checkout;
• the cart does not meet the quantity or minimum-spend rule;
• the qualifying product is no longer available;
• the item already has an incompatible coupon or promotion;
• alcohol or another restricted item is excluded;
• a membership code is being entered in the wrong redemption flow;
• the order was changed and no longer meets the promotion requirement; or
• the payment method required for the benefit was not selected.

For a membership offer, start with the official offer page or the exact Shipt communication that provided the code. For an order coupon, review the item and cart terms inside the account.

What Happens if a Qualifying Item Is Out of Stock?

Shipt’s digital coupon rules say an unavailable qualifying item normally means its digital coupon will not apply. For quantity-based coupons, a partial discount can apply when only part of the required quantity is available. The exact result depends on the coupon.

Broader Shipt promotions have a different rule. The general Promotion Terms say that when shopper substitutions, omissions or in-store unavailability would otherwise push a qualifying order below the promotion requirement, the promotion can remain applicable. If the customer changes or cancels the order in a way that removes qualification, the benefit can be lost.

That difference is why a product coupon and a cart promotion should not be treated as the same thing.

How to Cancel a Shipt Trial or Membership

If you do not want a Shipt membership to renew, cancel it through the account before the next billing event rather than simply stopping orders.

For a membership purchased directly from Shipt, the current Help Center steps are:

1. Sign in to Shipt.
2. Select Account.
3. Open Shipt Membership Profile.
4. Select How to cancel my membership.
5. Confirm the cancellation.

Shipt also lists a dedicated cancellation line at (205) 259-7798, available from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT. Memberships purchased through Target should be canceled through the Target app; Target Guest Services handles additional Target membership support.

Always use the current cancellation instructions because the account path or support process can change.
